Compulsion

Relocating to Cape Town was the most exciting adventure I had decided to put myself on as a young adult solidifying her roots. I was scared by the unknown and excited by the plethora of possibilities. Merrily living my new life in Cape Town, I was soon hit with the reality of how expensive my acrylic nail habits would be to maintain in a town where neutral earth tones were abound and natural uncombed hair is part of the varb... Mowbray saved my life, even though I still have to pay R50 more than I'm used to nkos yam! Mara what can I do? Grow my nails? Mmmmaybe that's an option. But they too short and then my fingers look like amarussian or the wors from Shoprite pumped with water before you poke it with the fork. And what nigger will want to suck on that?
The fakery in Cape Town is about how subdued you can be and the
fakery in Joburg is about how flamboyant you can be...
I'm still trying to find my balance
